Blue Screen Problems—How to Prevent Blue Screen Problems in Advance

Have you ever encountered that your computer is freezing up even sometimes falls into blue screen? This must be the last thing of computer problems for all the users to see. As a matter of fact, the best methods to fix blue screen problem is to prevent it in advance rather than figure it out when it happens.
This is what I want to share with you in this article—how to prevent blue screen problems in advance. Here are some tips to do that based on my own experience.

1. You should back up importance registry files manually at proper intervals. In this way, computer will not be in a mess if system goes wrong but there are not alternative backup files at hand.

2. For common users, if computer is running normally, it is unnecessary to upgrade graphic card and BIOS and driver programs of main board. You may not know that too much upgrading can harm system performance as well.

3. You should avoid closing down computer abnormally in order to lessen the number of lost files, such as Dynamic Library Links files (DLL) which is quite important for smooth computer running. You should be patient enough to wait for the shutting down of your computer completely.

4. And you had better not install useless software as possible as you can. If you are not skillful enough, you should not uninstall or delete programs manually so as to reduce the number of illegal alternative files.

5. To be honestly, if you do not have large RAM and administrative programs, it is safe for you not to run large programs at the same time. What is more, if you find system is creaking when listening to MP3, the problems are caused likely by low memory.

6. You should check and optimize system files regularly. You can click “
Start”—“All Programs”—“Accessories”—“Command Prompt” and then type “sfc” so as to check lost files and proofread versions. Besides, you can clear up disk and defragment disk regularly as well. It is also a good method to prevent blue screen problems by freeing up more disk space.

Since blue screen is really a disaster for all the users, you should learn to prevent such accident in advance rather than to fix blue screen problem hastily.

Improve Windows Speed—How to Improve Windows Speed by Improving Hard disk Performance

Although Windows system can provide a bunch of useful and convenient service for users, it also has many shortcomings. For example, it is fast to consume system resource and users have to face shortage of disk space. In this article, you can learn some methods to improve Windows speed by improving hard disk performance.

First of all, you should check whether you have compressed disk or not. Since compressing disk can reduce computer performance seriously and slow down system speed for sure. Therefore, you should check whether you have used such function. Right-click the drive, click “General” to see if you have enabled to compress disk so as to free up disk space. It is better not to do that because it can decrease hard disk performance.

As a coin has two sides, though Windows-based systems are able to provide the service of running multiple tasks simultaneously, you have to tolerate the shortcoming of Windows operating system that is to manage files unclearly. Even sometimes you do not know whether this file is useful for computer or not. As time goes by, more and more files are increasing in the Windows directory, plus those swap and temporary files. They are consuming a lot of available disk space. When the available disk space is too little, there may be not enough space to support temporary and swap files which can slow down system running efficiency definitely.

More important, since you have restored and deleted much software frequently, it makes those available disk space fragmented. In this way, system has to spend more time in moving disk head when restoring and reading certain file. See, this is another cause of slow computer speed. In order to fix low disk space problem, you need to free up more space by deleting junks files such as temporary and swaps files in the C drive or on the Internet. And you can try to defragment disk by running defragmenting program of Windows or other third-party tools like “Advanced Defrag”.

And, if your computer is not updated enough for supporting SP3 or SP4 but definite too many partitions, it also drags the startup computer system. Therefore, it is advisable for you not to set too many partitions if your computer have not prepared very well for that. This is because Windows has to load every partition when starting up. As the partitions are becoming more and more, it also has to spend more and more time to operate them. So, you should not take the risk to set too many partitions which have little use but slow computer speed.

In order to increase Windows speed it is necessary for you to keep hard diskrunning normally. If not, it is vulnerable of slow speed. In this regard, you need to spare no effort to protect your hard disk.

Computer Problems—How to Fix Certain Computer Problems?

Nowadays it is a must for users to learn how to fix computer problems instead of reinstalling computer every time when encountering computer problems. That is what I want to share with you in this article—how to fix certain computer problems.

In the first place, you can forbid the function of restart automatically
If Windows encounters a fatal problem, it may start up system again in order to solve it. But, if such problem happens during starting up Windows, the operating system has to fall into trap of restarting again and again without running normally. Under such circumstance, you need to forbid this automatic startup function. The specific function is as follows: when starting up the system and seeing “Please select the operating system to start”, you should press F8 to open the menu of Windows advanced options and choose to forbid starting up system automatically when it goes awry and then press “Enter”. Now, if there is any problem in the Windows, it will give you a message of stopping which can be used to diagnose problems.

And then you can learn how to restore backup. If you can not repair Windows but have recent backup, you can restore system from backup medium. The methods to restore system are based on the backup tools you use. Therefore, you should renew system by the prompts of backing up tools.

Besides, you can shorten starting up time. In the “Start” menu, click “Run” and type “Msconfig” in the popping up dialog box. You can enter into “System Configuration” window. In the “General” tab, you can choose to startup selectively. By doing this, you can find all the items that the computer will load when starting up. Although the loading programs can improve computer performance and add a lot of functions, they may delay starting up time. That is to say, you can shorten starting up time by forbidding loading certain programs when booting computer. And this is a good way to prevent the problems which happen probably during this process.

If you find your computer is running slower and slower and cannot find any specific problems, I earnestly suggest you that it is necessary for you to defragment disk. Though defragmentation can help you reallocate disk fragments and free up disk space, you should do that properly since too much defragmentation is also harmful to computer.

All in all, as computer is such a complex machine that requires careful and cautious operations, you need to learn more methods to fix computer problems.

Computer Maintenance—To Maintain Computer by Defragmenting Disks

As a computer user, if you hope the computer can work longer, it is necessary to maintain the computer correctly. Since there are many ways to protect the computer, I would like to share some of my experiences in computer maintenance.
As long as you live in this computer world, you must have heard of disk defragmentation. It is really a very useful method to maintain your computer. It can help you get rid of those disturbing junks in the disk and free up space to support computer running more smoothly and efficiently.

You can find junks and temporary files in certain folders in the disks but cannot view the fragments in the disk. In other word, even you can remove the junks manually by deleting them directly, you cannot get rid of any piece of disk fragment like that. That is why Microsoft creates a defragmenting program to help you solve this problem. Unfortunately, such program seems to be designed for those who have plenty of time and energy. So, in order to optimize defragmentation performance, it is wise for you to use other tools like “Advanced Defrag”.

It is known to all that many system programs are put in the C disk. If there are a mass of fragments in it, it is probably to hinder system startup speed. In order to speed up the starting speed, you should reduce the fragments in the C systematic disk as many as possible. In certain Windows systems, it may create a temporary swap folder named “WIN386.SWP” in the “C: /WINDOWS” directory. Such folder is used to work as virtual memory by applying its hard disk space. That is to say, even you do nothing as long as you start up computer, the temporary swap folder is still there to occupy disk space. Working as virtual memory, it will read and write to hard disk frequently and lead to a pile of hard disk fragments.

It is undoubted that you must close down screen saver program ahead of defragmentation. Otherwise, defragmenting program may start up repeatedly. You can check whether you have shut it down by right-clicking desktop and clicking “Properties”. In the “Display Properties”, click “Screen Saver”. In the tab, you can see whether you have chosen “None” in the screen saver column. If not, you can choose “None” to turn it off. And, if you are an experienced user, you can attempt to change the registry so as to make screen saver shut down automatically.

And how long will it take to defragment disks? If the capability of hard disk or partition is too little, it will take less time to defragment. But if not, you have to wait for a long time to defragment disks thoroughly. What is worse, some disk fragments are so stubborn that you can not avoid them.

As a result, it is unavoidable to produce disk fragments unless you have limitlessly huge hard disk. As long as you add or remove files in the limited space, fragments can pile in the disk without question. If you want to maintain your computer, disk defragmentation is a must choice.

Speed up Computer—How to Free up Disk Space

If you have been using computer for a long time, it is inevitable that your computer is running not so fast as before. Since a large number of reasons can result in slow computer speed, you have to take different methods to solve them one by one. Here, I would like to share some helpful ways to speed up computer by freeing up disk space.

When the computer has been working for a period of time, there are a lot of junks piling in it which are produced by surfing on the Internet, reading or writing data, deleting or removing files and so forth. If you continue to turn a blind eye to it, it is no doubt that you have to suffer slow computer performance. In this regard, you should know how to get rid of those junks in order to optimize computer performance.

First, you should delete junk and temporary files without hesitation. Such ones occupy a lot of space and do nothing good to computer. So, removing them can help you free up disk space. Here are some tips for you to do that manually.

You can delete many useless files such as those system and driver backup ones. Or if you have updated or patched computer, you may find there are many files like “Nt Uninstall” under the “C: /WINDOWS” directory. You feel easy to remove all of them. Besides, you can move certain files out of the systematic disks so as to leave more space for the disk to run program more quickly.

Since you have removed the junks files of computer, the next step is to clear up fragments in the disk. Such fragments are so invisible that you can not delete them by removing certain files. That is to say, you have to use a professional program to do that for you. You can use the defragmenting program of Windows in the “All Programs”—“Accessories”—“System Tools”. You should scan the disk first and then perform disk defragmentation

As for scanning disk, it is a necessary step for the computer, since the program needs to gather the specific data to defragment disk. You can choose “Disk Cleanup” in the “System Tools” to scan the disk. It comes to defragmentation next. You can choose “Disk Defragmenter” in the “System Tools” as well. And then all you have to do is to wait for the defragmenting program complete the task. If you are not so busy, it is OK for you to use this program. But if not, I think you should think carefully whether to use it or not, because such Windows program is really time-consuming.

In order to speed up defragmentation, I think you to use third-party tools, since they are the experts in this regard. But among the market that good and bad mix together, you should be more cautious to choose defrag. Therefore, according to my experience, I recommend you to use a program named “Advanced Defrag”  which stands out of its kinds. You can not miss such helpful tool.

Disk Defragment—Useful Tips for You about Defragmentation

Disks serve as storage for your computer. It restores all the files of computer and the system can read and write them from the disks in return. And every time when the disks are going to be occupied excessively, the computer will remind you kind-hearted that disk space is low.

However, such notification can be annoying sometimes, since the always popping up prompt may disturb you a lot. The less disk space is, the more notifications are. Therefore, you can take some measures to forbid system reminding you disturbingly.

It is no doubt that if you have put a large number of files in the disk and there is less and less space in it, the computer will remind you tirelessly and you have to bear it patiently. Well, here is a method to help you forbid such notification.

That is you can close down such notification by revising registry.

First of all, click “Start”—“Run”, type “regedit” in the dialog box and then click “OK”. In the “Registry Editor”, find the entry of “HKEY CURRENT USER/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Policies/Explorer” in the left column, and find the key value of “NoLowDiskSpaceChecks” in the right.

If this exists, you can change the value from 0 to 1, since “0” is the default value. Double-click the key and change it in the “Edit String” dialog box.

But if there is no such value, you can add a new one by choosing “New/ DWORD Value” in the Edit menu and type “NoLowDiskSpaceChecks” in it and then press “Enter”. You should make sure that there is not any blank among all the words. This should be a long variable name. Then, double-click the new key and also revise the value into “1”. At last, click “OK”, exit “Registry Editor” and restart your computer. You may find that the disturbing notification has disappeared completely.

Since you have closed down the low disk space notification, it is a must for you to defragment disk regularly in order to free up disk space. No matter you prohibit such notification or not, the disk fragments can not disappear automatically. Therefore, if you want to keep your computer in a good state, you should remove disk fragments  on time.

Although you have shut down the low disk space notification, it does not mean that you can turn a cold shoulder to it. Disk fragments can takes up the space gradually. If you do not pay enough attention to them, the excessive fragments can hinder your computer speed and system performance.

Disks, the storage of computer, can be overstaffed by files and junk ones especially. If you have check the disks regularly, you may find that there are too many files in the disks, use or useless. As a matter of fact, you can delete some of them to free up disk because those are junk files. And such files include the temporary and some backup ones. Therefore, you can delete them in the folders named “Cookies”, “Temp”, “Temporary Internet Files”, and “History” in the “c:\Documents and Settings\Username” and “Temp”, “ServicePackFiles” and “Driver Cache” in the “c:\WINDOWS.

After getting rid of those files, the next step is to defragment disk. In order to save your time and energy, it is wise for you to use a more professional tool than the disk defragmenter of Windows. You canclick here to find such useful defrag.

Disk Space—Useful Knowledge about Disk Space

Are you always annoyed by the popping up prompts of “Low Disk Space”? Even though your computer still can run smoothly, the system is reminding that untiringly. Are you tired of it?

Before taking any action to solve this problem, you should know why Windows system is designed to remind you that disk space is low.

In the Windows system, Microsoft tries to add various prompt in hope that can prevent users from being annoyed. The “Low Disk Space Notification” is one of them. Useful as it is, it is really disturbing in most cases.

First of all, let us see why you are prompted by that.

As its name suggests, “Low Disk Space Notification” is to remind users when the disk space is going to run out. As for the main system drivers, it is especially important to protect system from losing data because of overstaffing disk space. If this happens during the main system drivers working, it can result in overwhelming system swap files. At the same time, the system can not install or exit programs normally. What is worse, the running out disk space can lead to system freezing up and data loss.

Since free disk space is reducing day after day, Windows may remind you more and more frequently. When available disk space is less than 200MB, Windows remind you every time when you start computer and once four hours on condition that it is less than 80MB till your available space is over that. More terrible, you have to bear the interference once five minute when the space is below 50MB.

You may not know that too much low disk space notification can reduce working efficiency and worsen computer performance, because the system have to spend more time in detecting free disk space which should be supposed to complete other tasks.

Although “Low Disk Space Notification” is designed to remind users with goodwill, it is annoying if it pops up too often. Sometimes your computer is still running very well, but it reminds you that the disk space is low which really interfere in using the computer.

On the other hand, if the computer is running out of space, it is useful for you to take some actions to solve it. Just as I mentioned above, since there is not enough space to support the running of computer, its performance can reduce without question. So, how to free up disk space?

Besides clearing up junk files, do not forget to defragment disk  completely. Too much fragments scattered in the disk can hold back computer to run fast as before. And, defragmenting program can gather them together and arrange again so as to free up space in the disk. This is a good method to free up disk without changing any data in the computer. Slow Speed? Defragment Now

No one hopes that his computer may run slower and slower. But it is unavoidable that the computer is bound to encounter decreasing performance, if you do not take any action to improve it.
Therefore, besides using anti-virus software to detect the system, you can also use some other methods to solve it. This is what I want to tell you in this article.

Do you find your computer is running slower and slower? But, do you know that even you do not perform any operation, the disk is still working for you as usual? In fact, it is because there are a large number of fragments produced by using the computer.
To be correctly, the fragments should be called files fragments. They are dispersed into different places of the disk discontinuously. In other simple word, any programs’ read-write operation may create fragments in the disk. And in the daily usage, PC users set up, delete and update the files in the disk one after another. As time goes by, there are numerous files fragments heaping which have serious impact on computer performance, waste disk space and lessen its usage.

When running the system may apply some disk spaces to virtual memory. You can right-click “My Computer” to choose “Properties”, in the “Advanced” tab, click “Settings” of “Performance” and then click “Advanced”, you will see how many spaces are used for virtual memory. And, when the system is running, such spaces are occupied and the defragmentation cannot do anything to them. But do not worry, they have little influence on the system performance. It is advisable for you to defragment in the “Safe Mode”, because it is faster to do it.

By doing this, you can enjoy the computer high speed again. Well, if you also want to enjoy the high speed of defragmentation, you can click here to find the best answer.

Speed up Defragmentation—Some Methods to Defragment Faster

In this fast current world, it is definitely that everyone hopes to use less time to accomplish more goals. In this regard, you cannot miss this article, because it will tell you how to save your time in defragmenting without decreasing any goals.

First of all, you can change the position of temporary folders. When surfing on the internet, some users may try to visit offline in order to use less money to attain more information. But, as long as you visit websites, it is no doubt that there are many temporary left on the catalog in the “C: WindowsTemporary Internet Files”. That is to say, if you visit hourly, the browser may leave a mess of temporary files on this catalog, what is worse, it performs read-write operations frequently resulting in lots of fragments which hinder the visiting speed. In order to prevent such problem, you can point the temporary folders to other partitions to share the burden of C disk. First, set a temporary restored catalog in the D disk and then click “Start”— “Control Panel”—“Internet Option”, in the dialog box, click “Settings”– “Move Folders” and choose the relating catalogs. Then, you can find the position of temporary folders has been changed.

Then, you should keep a certain amount of disk space. It is common that if there are few spaces in the hard disk, it takes a lot of time to run applications and defragment the hard disk. In other word, you should remain enough spaces to run defragmentation smoothly. However, different disk partitions cost time and energy differently. For those small sizes of disk partitions, it is better to remain 15% available spaces at least; for the bigger ones, more than 5% is the better choice and for leading partitions, 40MB is the minimum requirement of available spaces. Besides, you are supposed to free up the disk spaces in time, such as empty the recycle bin at every turn, delete the history record of surfing, temporary files and folders and so forth.

Besides the two methods of defragmentation mentioned above, I strongly recommend you to turn to the third method–that is to use a professional defrag-Advanced Defrag, which is more efficient than the Windows program. It is worthy for you to have a try.
