In the new dialog box, choose “Temp” in the “User variables” and Click “Edit”. In the “Edit User Variable” box, you can change the variable default value from “C:/Documents and Setting/User/Temp” to “X: /YYY/TEMP” (X means the disk name you want to move to; YYY mean the superior folder of “TEMP”). Then, click “OK” to return the previous box and change “TMP” in the same way. At last, restart the computer and all the changes become effective.
You can move Temporary Internet Files folders out of system disk.
You can click “Control Panel”—“Network and Internet Connections”–“Internet Options”—“General”–“Internet temporary files”—“Settings”—“Move folder” and choose the temporary folders to the disk in the “Browse for Folder” tab. It is advisable for you to delete the files in this folder at intervals
After removing the junk and temporary files, the next step is to defragment your hard disks. Since the disk fragments are the major causes of slow computer, it is undoubted to delete them immediately.
In order to remove them completely, you can choose the Disk Defragmenter of Windows in the “All Programs”—“Accessories”—“System Tools”, of course.
