Free Support For Hard Drive Defragmentation
It is known to all that defragmentation can speed up the computer. And, everyone absolutely has defragmented or tried to do it. Some may have encountered such problems that it is impossible to continue to defragment the disk, especially C disk. Well, in this article, you will learn some specific methods to solve it.
The problem is why the C disk can not keep defragmenting?
In the Windows XP system, when conducting defragmentation, the system reminds you that the files of C:\Windows\prefetch\WMIPRVSE.EXE-28F301A9.PF are broken or damaged, so it cannot continue to scan the system.
In fact, C:\Windows\Prefetch\ is the pre-reading folder of Windows XP. The system restores frequent used data in this folder so as to facilitate the reading speed when it needs to read those data again. However, since you use the folder for a long time, the Prefetch folder becomes bigger and bigger, even some broken files are hidden here. So, if you do not take any action to get rid of these junks, it is vulnerable to appear the above problem. And the simple solution to this is to clear up the whole folders and then perform defragmentation.
And, when you find C disk has been overstaffed and computer is running slowly, it is time for you to clear up it immediately. Here are some tips I have been using as follows:
1. Clear up the temporary files in the C disk. Such as the system temporary files with the extension of “INTERNET”. They are nothing but useless which takes up the space largely.
2. Clean up the desktop and the files in “My Documentary” and remove the files with large size to other disks.
3. Form a good habit—do not install application in the C disk as much as possible. If you have installed in it, you had better reinstall them to other disks.
4. Use defrag to clean up fragments and clear registry.
Besides, if programs are uninstalled abnormally, such as deleting DEL files directly, you have to clean up the registry. On the other hand, you can delete the remaining uninstalling and used information, archived data and so on.
All in all, it is quite important for you to shape a good habit of <a href=”http:// www.advanceddefrag.com”>defragmenting disks</a>. But if the problems happen, besides solving them manually, you can also use <a href=”http:// www.advanceddefrag.com”>some helpful tools</a> to share the burden.
