Since you have been using computer for a long time, it is undeniable that computer performance is reducing day by day, such as computer is running slower and slower, or an increasing number of junks are piling up in the computer.
If such problems have occurred in your computer, it is an alarm that you should take some actions to fix them so as to optimize computer performance. Well, that is what I want to tell you in this article.
1. Clean and optimize registry
When Windows boot up, system needs to read data in the registry and put them in the ram temporarily. Windows spend most time in this regard. Therefore, it is necessary to clean and optimize registry. As for how to do that, you can turn to certain optimizer to help you.
2. Delete excessive dynamic library link files.
In the Windows-based operating systems, there are many dynamic library link files in the system subdirectory. Among them, some are shared by many files while some are quite useless. In order to free up disk space and improve computer speed, you can delete them on condition that you are skillful in computer technology.
3. Maintain system regularly.
If you have put too many games and applications with lot of old and useless data, it is no doubt computer is running slower and slower as well as booting computer.
Therefore, you should maintain computer completely at proper intervals. For example, to defragment disk is really a good way to improve computer performance. Besides, it is a must to defragment the disk where you put systematic programs. This is the right way to speed up starting up order of Windows correctly.
4. Expand virtual memory
If you have large disk, it is quite suitable for you to set virtual memory. You can point to a disk that is seldom used and then fix maximum and minimum values which is twice as that of physical memory. In this way, when virtual memory is applying hard disk, the value does not have to change unstably. Instead, system can apply fixed space as virtual memory so as to speed up read-write speed.
What is more, it is advisable for you to set the values after defragmentation because virtual memory should be put in a continuous space without any fragment. Only by doing this, it can play greater role in optimizing computer performance.
If you are eager to optimize computer performance, you should follow the steps one by one because I have introduced the main causes and solutions to improve computer performance in all-round way.

When using Windows Vista operating system, it will sometimes stop responding when booting up the computer or in the midst of doing something because of a corrupted registry, system files and a miss of the device driver files. So how can we effectively solve it to optimize Vista? Here, a common solution will be discussed.
To solve the stop-responding issue and then optimize Vista, it is necessary to use the Windows Vista installation disc and the follow the steps below to fix the problem:
1) Insert the Windows Vista installation disc and boot your system (Note that you have set it to boot from CD or DVD)
2) Set the preferred language and then click “Next” to proceed.
3) Click “Repair My Computer”.
4) Then, select the operating system to be repaired in “System Recovery Options” dialog box and then click “Next”.
5) Click to select “Startup Repair” option in same dialog box to automatically detect and then correct startup problems which result in stop-responding problems. Click “Finish” when the process gets completed.
But if you have preinstalled recovery option, you can simply follow the steps below to fix the issue rather than use Windows Vista installation disc to use “Startup Repair” tool.
1) Remove all floppy disks, CD and DVD from the computer, and then restart the computer
2) Follow one of the operations below to proceed:
A. If you only have one operating system, please directly get into Windows safe mode
B. If you have multiple operating systems, you can first select the one to be repaired and then press F8 to get into safe mode.
3) Select “Repair My Computer” within the “Advanced Boot Options” and press “Enter”.
4) Click one keyboard layout in the list and press “Next”.
5) Click one user in the list, enter the password and click “OK”.
6) Select “Startup Repair” option within “System Recovery Options” dialog box.
7) When the repair process finishes, simply click “Finish”.
(Note: if the problem still remains after you reboot your computer, please repeat the steps above to fix the problem)
With the simple steps above, you can easily fix the problem and then optimize your computer. But here, I still want to mention that to optimize Vista, it is necessary for you to pay attention to some other dispensable daily maintenance such as regularly run the built-in Disk Cleanup to clear the useless system junk files, or timely uninstall the unwanted programs from the computer, which should be followed by a simple disk defragmentation to rearrange the files on the hard disk, making them always stay at a single same place of the hard disk and much easier to input or output when necessary, which will greatly speed up the computer and avoid system crashes, freeze-up.
In conclusion, when using the computer, it is necessary for us to master some solutions to fix the stop-responding problem to optimize Vista, but a proper daily maintenance is more important in optimizing the computer, in my opinion.

It is natural that computer may run slower and slower since you have been using it for a long time. Have you ever tried to speed up your computer by many methods which are from friends or Internet? Now matter they are useful or not, you should read this article because I will tell you some tips to improve computer speed manually.
Many users are fans of using beautiful themes or wallpapers on the desktop. However, you have to pay for these beautiful things, that is, your computer must spend a large number of ram to support the extravagance in using resource. And excessive icons can slow down computer as well. Because system has to check whether it is needed to start up theme and then to load it, this is the way that so many themes take up a lot of memory.
At the same, system has to search and verify the validity of desktop shortcuts. That is to say, more shortcuts are there, more time the system has to expend. Therefore, it is advisable not to set themes. If you really want to do that, a piece of beautiful wallpaper is quite enough. And, you are able to classify these desktop shortcuts and put them into specific folder. By doing this, it is not only easy to administrate but can also speed up loading.
Then, since Anti-virus programs are hassles for computer as well, you can remove some of them if you have installed a lot of such programs. Some anti-virus software has provided to scan system when computer is booting. Well, the shortcomings of such function are overwhelming its advantages, because it may cost a lot of time without question.
As a matter of fact, if you have opened the real-time monitoring function and checked system regularly, it is unnecessary to scan the system when computer is starting up. You had better forbid such function so as to improve computer speed.
Besides, it is better not to set any memory optimizer software to work automatically when computer is booting. Even though computer administrates memory when starting up, it can do little help to computer but slow down starting up speed greatly. In fact, Windows has provided scientific and efficient administration to the memory and you do not need to do that by yourself.
Last but not least, do not forget to defragment disk regularly no matter using Windows programs or any other defragmenting programs. It can help you improve computer speed a lot.
In order to improve computer speed, you also need to clear registry and hard disk as well. Most importantly, it is to clear up computer regularly to keep computer in a good state with high speed.

Do you want to speed up your computer and enjoy a faster computer every day in 2010? I believe the answer is “Yes”. Here, you can find very simple ways to speed up computers.
First of all, it is sure that, at some point in time, an upgrade of the RAM modules, graphics card, or maybe even purchase a whole new computer package helps to speed up the computer. But here, we will discuss some very simple ways to speed up computers with paying any extra dollars.
1. Regularly scan the computer for viruses. We know that once the computer is infected by viruses, lots of system resources will be taken up, which greatly slow down the computer. What is more terrible is that it will sometimes steal users’ privacy. So to speed up your computer, what you need to do first is to install an reliable anti-virus program on your computer, and regularly scan your computer to make sure that it is always far away from viruses.
2)To speed up your computer, secondly you have to make sure that the system does not automatically load too many unnecessary programs at starting up. If too mane programs load at one time, you can image how slow it is just like running many programs / opening several websites at the same time. So it is necessary for you to go to Start -> Run ->type “msconfig” to access System Configuration Utility ->disable the programs that do not need to run at windows startup within the “Startup” tab.
By the way, when trying to speed up the computer, it is recommended to uninstall the unwanted programs, delete the unused files that you don’t need, and clean up the system junk files from your computer which is followed by a simple disk defragmentation—a good solution to regain a faster computer by rearranging the files on your computer. All of these rather simple steps help you easily release more available memory for the proper running of the programs on your computer.
3) Increase the startup /shutdown speed, which is an indispensable part when attempting to speed up your computer. When shutting down the computer, it will send messages to the running programs and the remote sever, telling them that the computer is going to shut down, and the system will begin to shut down after receiving response. So you can reset the Auto End Tasks to speed up the computer: please open Registry Editor ->locate “HKEY_CURRENT_USERControl PanelDesktop” ->change the value data of “AutoEndTasks” to “1” ->change the value data of the sub-brand “HungAppTimeout” to “2000” or less than “2000”; then please go to find “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESystemCurrentControlSetControl” and change the value data of “WaitToKillServiceTimeout” to “2000” or less than “2000”. After this setting, the computer will be much faster when starting up or shutting down.
4) Fourthly, to speed up your computer, you can simply increase the broadband speed. Normally, Windows XP will reserve 20% broadband, which has no meaningful significance for the users. In my opinion, it is much better to make full use of it rather than let it idle. You can go to “Start” -> Run ->type “gpedit.msc” to open “Group Policy Editor”->Computer Configuration ->Administrative Templates ->Network ->QoS Packet Scheduler ->right click “Limit reservable Bandwidth” to select “Properties” ->click “Enable” within the popping- up windows -> change the Bandwidth limit from the default 20 to 0. Hence, all bandwidth will be released and greatly speed up computers.
With the simple four steps above, you can easily speed up your computer and then enjoy a faster computer every day in 2010. If you are annoyed with your slow computer right now, please do not miss the tips above.
